Fit for the Future STP Board meeting – Tuesday 12 November 2019 – CANCELLED
It is with regret that the Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP) is cancelling the Board meeting in public planned for 12th Nov.
With the announcement of the General Election to be held on 12 December 2019 the STP, like all NHS organisations, is subject to pre-election guidance about the types of communication and discussions that can be held in public in the pre-election period. This is to avoid any discussions distracting from, or having any impact on, election campaigns, and to ensure that the NHS remains politically impartial.
What is the pre-election period?
The pre-election period, also referred to as ‘purdah’ or the ‘period of sensitivity’, is the period of time immediately before elections or referendums. During this time specific restrictions are placed on the use of public resources and the communication activities of public bodies, civil servants and local government officials. The pre-election period is designed to avoid the actions of public bodies distracting from or having influence on election campaigns. The pre-election period has implications for all NHS organisations.
