More falls services
Falls are the most common cause of accidental injury in older people and the most common cause of accidental death of people over the age of 75 in the UK.
Older people at risk of falls across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough are to receive more support following the development of a Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation Trust staff training programme to improve the prevention and management of falls.
Additional staff have also been employed to increase the availability of strength and balance exercise programmes, both within and outside of the NHS, as these programmes are one of the most effective ways of reducing the risk of falls.
