David Astley OBE, was appointed as the Independent Chair for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Sustainability and Transformation Programme in September 2016.

David is leading the Sustainability and Transformation Programme’s health and care executive in delivering the five-year, county-wide Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP).

David said on his appointment, “I am delighted to be asked to be Independent Chair of the Sustainability and Transformation Programme for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. It is an area of huge importance to the UK economy and requires health and social care services of the highest standard. Demand for health and social care has never been higher and all those involved in providing services are working in partnership to provide good quality care for service users.

“I am an enthusiastic supporter of closer working of health and social care and I will work to continue that joint working from my position as independent chair.”
