Focus on…Children and Young People workstream
Scope: To identify short term opportunities for improving the efficiency of how children’s and young people services are provided and opportunities for improving the care model for children and young people (e.g. enhancing community services) and exploring opportunities for improving patient pathways for children and young people to ensure sustainable services.
How are things going?
The children’s and young people working group has identified a small number of opportunities for improving the efficiency of services in the short term which relate to enhancing community services. The group is aligning its work with the separate activities on integration of Children’s Mental Health, Children’s Physical Health and 0-19 health services.
From the public assemblies held during March
Feedback from the events indicated that children’s services are confusing and fragmented and that service provision for Children’s Mental Health is weak in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The healthy child work is redesigning CAMHS provision in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, and we are seeking to standardise the way that care is provided across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, through enhancing community services and developing networks of services.
